Giovane Cafe in Coal Harbour.
This bakery cafe is a NEEDED addition to the Burrard Street end of Coal Harbour!
The cafe located on the Cordova side of the new Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel in the 1000 block of West Cordova has a sleek, modern interior which coincides with the understated modernity of the hotel's lobby. Giovane offers comfortable low-slung seating areas and free wireless. Most importantly they make excellent and consistent expresso drinks, tissane teas, interesting paninis such as braised pork, fennel, portabello mushroom, proscuitto, roasted turkey with pear and arugula (yummy) with a side of mixed greens salad all for $9-$11. They also serve thin crust individual pizzas. All of this can be enjoyed with a glass of wine or beer as Giovane's is truly a cafe.
Their bakery selection is sure to attract the breakfast crowd. Do try the sugarbun with a custard centre, not too sweet! Cakes are beautiful and served by the slice or may be purchased whole.
The cafe also sells an interesting small assortment of gift items for the time-challenged traveller about to return home having forgotten to pick up a little "I missed you gift" for their loved ones at home.... I noted a couple of great DOG COLLARS ... for dogs ;-)
